With over twenty years of experience in all types of conference (simultaneous) interpreting in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, Sula holds a post-graduate degree in Simultaneous Conference Interpreting from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica (PUC), Rio de Janeiro. She is a member of the International Association of Conference Interpreters (Association Internationale d'Interprètes de Conférence, AIIC, Geneva); The American Association of Language Specialists (TAALS, Washington), the American Translators Association (ATA, Alexandria, Va.), and is a founding member of the Sindicato de Tradutores do Brasil (SINTRA, Rio de Janeiro). She has recently handled such varied assignments as the first Taiwan and African Allies Leaders Conference (Taiwan, 2007), Bejing Olympics (2008), and the Fifth Summit of the Americas (OAS, for heads of state) in Trinidad and Tobago (2009). She has traveled throughout Latin America and the Caribbean with the Organization of American States, the Interamerican Press Association, and other clients, as well as taking assignments in Italy, Austria, India, Canada, and Africa.
